Hi, I'm Andrew.
I'm a full-stack software engineer in Los Angeles.
I'm a full-stack software engineer in Los Angeles.
For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with learning about the latest and greatest; no language is too different, pattern too difficult, or process too challenging.
Lately? I've been building GraphQL API's using TypeScript, developing infrastructure tooling, and architecting elegant Client-side solutions at Credit Karma.
Some of my must haves: test driven development, scalability, thoughtful and meaningful code review, and setting up build pipelines for success.
I am currently a Software Engineer at Credit Karma, developing a GraphQL API seen by over 100 million members. In my time here I have led and released several large initiatives, which I discuss in more detail in my blog.
At Lyft, we used a React.js and Redux stack to build out several of the high traffic Lyft.com web properties, including the homepage, Developer Portal, and other informational pages.
The website was powered using the Contentful API, and built using Node.JS, and React.js and Redux.
I am the single front-end architect for Spotfund, helping design, build, and deploy their web application using React.js and Redux, served up by Node.js.
I also built their Deploy regimes, advised on build strategies, and assisted in the project management.
I have run my own web design and development consulting agency, formerly under the name Believe Labs, for the better part of the last decade.
My work there included everything from securing contracts, aligning on client objectives and visions, and building production ready (as well as greenfield, minimum viable product) web applications and websites.
As in recent years I have moved into a more full-stack role, most of the work from this period is showcased on this website in the "legacy" category.
I built the Alabama Chanin webstore, using Next.js and Shopify.
I was an engineer on the Lyft.com Developer Platform and frontend platform teams, working on heavily trafficked Lyft.com web properties.
I contributed as a consultant on the SimplePractice web engineering team.
I joined the Dollar Shave Club web engineering team as a consultant, working on a various range of projects on their Ember.JS stack.
This website was a high profile website for the critically acclaimed Forks Over Knives website, featuring recipes and a blog.
I helped build the GraphQL API for the Credit Karma Savings platform.
I built the BeautyCon Contest web application, used by thousands of entrants at the Los Angeles Beautycon POP event.
I acted as a consultant for several Goop web properties, including their web store as well as their website blog.
I worked as a consultant for Brit + Co, working on several web components and a store integration.
I built, architected, and designed a single page React.js/Redux web application for Spotfund, a social micro donation network.
I worked as a consultant for McKinstry Energy, contributing to a complex web dashboard built in React/Redux.
I worked alongside a team of engineers at Hyfn Agency to build out a set of reusable dynamic React Components for the Official Lego Online store.
I consulted with a designer to build out the clean, beautiful, and elegant informational website for Movember TrueNTH.
This website was a high profile website for the national brand Wonderful's "Halos" mandarin oranges. The site was built on top of a heavily customized WordPress CMS, using advanced SASS and client-side JavaScript to make the page come alive with parallax effects.

I am currently accepting inquiries for new projects, particularly those architecting and building sophisticated web applications using modern tooling and frameworks (think TypeScript
, React.JS
, GraphQL
, Node.JS
, Ruby on Rails
).
